Information reaching our news team is that it is felt in Mavado's circles that the bullet which led to the death of his close friend 'Connie' at a nightclub last year was initially meant for the deejay.
Our news team was told that shortly after that unfortunate incident, Mavado reportedly relocated overseas and has been reportedly working on his overseas presence and fan base in various states throughout the United States.
THE WEEKEND STAR understands that since the entertainer's return, he has been making appearances at quite a few social gathering and events, albeit with allegations of a beefed-up entourage and detailed security.
His manager, Julian Jones-Griffiths, speaking on the issue of a hit being out on the deejay, told the THE WEEKEND STAR that, "On the record he doesn't really want to say much on the subject, apart from he's heard of it, and he's still alive and never scared and trusts in Jah."
Sources also said that unconfirmed reports that some well-known figures and even policemen were in on the plot.
Meanwhile, our news team understands the entertainer remains steadfast and focused on his rising career with a slew of tracks which are currently receiving heavy rotation on local and international airwaves.
His latest releases include singles such as Real Niggas Do Real Things, Invincible, Fight Fire With Fire and Suicidal Thoughts feat. DJ Khaled.
The We di Best Music signed entertainer, Mavado, made his long-awaited return to local stage last night at the Arthur Guinness Concert inside the National Indoor Sports Centre.
