David Brooks, more popularly known as Mavado, recent return to local soil has sent tongues wagging and sources close to the deejay have revealed they have strong knowledge of a hit being out on him, THE WEEKEND STAR understands.

Information reaching our news team is that it is felt in Mavado's circles that the bullet which led to the death of his close friend 'Connie' at a nightclub last year was initially meant for the deejay.
Our news team was told that shortly after that unfortunate incident, Mavado reportedly relocated overseas and has been reportedly working on his overseas presence and fan base in various states throughout the United States.

THE WEEKEND STAR understands that since the entertainer's return, he has been making appearances at quite a few social gathering and events, albeit with allegations of a beefed-up entourage and detailed security.
His manager, Julian Jones-Griffiths, speaking on the issue of a hit being out on the deejay, told the THE WEEKEND STAR that, "On the record he doesn't really want to say much on the subject, apart from he's heard of it, and he's still alive and never scared and trusts in Jah."
