Beenie Man To Release 'Dweet Aagain' Album In March 2013

Reinvigorated by the success of his hit single, Dweet Again, Beenie Man is looking forward to a breakout year in 2013.

He has been facing criticism from music critics because of what some deemed as 'lacklustre live performances' and a lack of high-powered hits. However, an upbeat Beenie Man explained that it is impossible for any artiste to be the 'man of the moment' forever.

"Right now, mi have the same plan I had in 2012, and in 2011, just go hard and done. I realize that one cannot be the man of the moment forever. It just nah go happen, you just have to be The Man. Look at Usher and Chris Brown, where can they walk inna Michael Jackson's shoes? That shows that music have a cycle, and you cannot be the man of the moment for 21 years, but you can be The Man for life. Simple," he said, laughing.

Beenie Man scored two major hit singles during 2013, with his 'Dweet Again', produced by Billboard chart-topping producer Rohan 'Snowcone' Fuller and first-time executive producer Claude Mills, topping local singles charts for several weeks. Another single, Gunshot, a combination with hip hop superstar Nicki Minaj, generated over 2 million hits on youtube without the benefit of a music video.

"Dweet Again was huge for me, and for the local dancehall audience, and that song is just taking off now in the US, in the clubs, on IRIE JAM in New York and Internet radio stations all over the USA, and Gunshot was big, it has several million hits on youtube, everybody know that song and love it, and it is popular even without a video. All now mi no get fi perform it with Nicki Minaj yet because everytime it supposed to happen, something come up. but ah just jah works," Beenie Man said.

Beenie Man will be releasing his album which he has tentatively titled 'Dweet Again' in March 2013 for the Universal Records label.

In the meantime, Beenie Man is experimenting with different genres of music, and this year, he attemped to enter his year’s Power Soca and Groovy Soca Monarch competitions in Trinidad, one of the biggest shows in the calendar of the TT Carnival, but his submissions were late.

"The problem is that we have been touring hard overseas and I tried to get both songs done in time for the Power Soca and Groovy Soca contests but I just couldn't make it in time. I sincerely apologise to all the Beenie Man fans in the Caribbean who expected me to enter the contests...I was just unable to get it done, the circumstances were beyond my control, but definitely next year, I will be there because ah my show that," he said.

The announcement was made this week by the Caribbean Prestige Foundation officials on Tuesday of this week that Beenie Man’s recordings for preliminary judging which took place last Sunday were received late, so the Doctor missed out on his chance to win the first prize award of 2 million TT dollars.

Etana to Release 3rd Album, "Better Tomorrow" on Feb 26th, 2013

New Studio Album Available February 26 on VP Records

Jamaican-born singer-songwriter Etana will reveal arguably her fiercest, most thought-provoking material to date on February 26, 2013. Recorded at Kingston’s legendary Tuff Gong Studios, Etana’s third studio album Better Tomorrow (VP Records) is a true testament to her evolved sound.

With a fresh perspective and baby daughter born in November 2012, Etana offers newfound clarity on Better Tomorrow. Her powerful songwriting and evocative vocals ride effortlessly over soulful reggae melodies on this 14-track collection produced primarily by Jamaica’s own Shane C. Brown of Jukeboxx Recordings. Etana is “moving ahead from struggles of yesterday on a musical journey that uplifts the mind, body and the raw soul," as she eloquently explains on Better Tomorrow’s  intro “Spoken Soul.”

Etana’s indomitable spirit uplifts and inspires generations both old and new. Songs like “Queen,” ignite strength and empowerment, while “Till You Get Old (Life's Gift)” is an awe-inspiring tale of motherhood and unconditional love (produced by Stanley “Rellee” Hayden). Her unabashed romanticism shines on the r&b tinged “4 Play 2 Love (Start Over) and on the rhythmic sway of the album's contagious first single "Reggae.” She combats hopelessness on "Whole New World," "All I Need" and "Better Tomorrow.” The latter spine-chilling title track addresses the atrocities of children in poverty-stricken communities while instilling optimism for brighter days.

Etana was nominated for Best New Reggae Artist at MOBO Awards and awarded Best Female Vocalist at both the Excellence in Music & Entertainment (EME) Awards and IRIE FM Radio Awards as well as the Best Solo Female Reggae Vocalist at the 1st annual Reggae Academy Awards.

Busy Signal's Manager Shane Brown Tells All...

Listen To The Interview - http://www.irishandchin.com/listen-to-exclusive-radio-show-interviews/3602

New York, New York -- September 27, 2012 -- Irish and Chin's Sound Chat Radio secured another highly sought after interview, this time around with incarcerated deejay Busy Signal's manager Shane Brown. He called in to Sound Chat Radio on Tuesday, Sept 25, less than a week after Busy Signal was sentenced to 6 months in prison at a Minnesota Courthouse, for having absconded bail 10 years ago. Shane cleared the air on several issues surrounding the deejay, whose real name is Glendale Gordon and not Reanno Gordon, which is the alias he had been living under.

No topic was off limit, as Sound Chat Radio's host Garfield 'Chin' Bourne asked Shane about prison conditions, which lead to the revealing disclosure of exactly how much weight Busy Signal has lost while being in jail for the last 4 months. Indeed, many of the deejay's manager's responses were very surprising as listeners were shocked to hear that Busy's facility does not allow visitation among other privileges usually granted at other prisons.

The two also discussed how Shane has guided Busy's career clear of all the usual Dancehall feuds and the instrumental decision that saw the deejay recording a full length, highly regarded Reggae album titled "Reggae Again," and not a mix of Dancehall and Reggae as is done by some artistes. Busy's manager speaks on the album's present day sales, as it was released just weeks before the deejay was arrested.

The 30 minute interview was also groundbreaking because Shane has a reputation of being very 'media shy' -- not granting many interviews throughout his many years in the music industry, despite working with top personalities such as Morgan Heritage, Shaggy, The Marley family, Romain Virgo, Chuck Fenda, Lady Saw, Bounty Killer and Shabba just to name a few

Chin's latest interview gave Sound Chat Radio listeners exclusive insight into the mood at the courtroom during Busy's sentencing, personal accounts of the presiding judge's comments and the potential role that the deejay's song "Nah go a jail again," played in the eventual outcome.
